Like to stay active on holiday? From skiing to yoga, hiking to windsurfing we've got everything on your holiday doorstep.
You'll find our self-catering resorts in some of the UK's largest national parks, by rugged coasts, lochs and mountains. Travel a little further and enjoy miles of sandy beaches and water sports galore in the Costa Del Sol, Spain.
Add this to the variety of on-site activities and you'll find the perfect base for an activity break!
Whether you consider yourself a gentle stroller or mountaineer your walking holiday can take in tranquil canal sides, rugged mountains, sun-dappled forest trails, sandy beaches and dramatic chalk ridges.
Take a break in one of our two resorts near Aviemore and explore the Cairngorms National Park climbing some of Scotland’s highest peaks or a gentle stroll around Loch Morlich. Stay in Aberfoyle and follow in the footsteps of Rob Roy with a walk in the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. Or journey to Pennal and discover the rolling hills and valleys within Snowdonia National Park, also home Snowdon, the highest peak outside of Scotland at 3,560 ft. If you prefer staying closer to sea level there's fabulous nature reserves, beaches and woodland walks galore in the New Forest.
Our Spanish resorts offer endless opportunities for beach walks, the popular boardwalk along Mijas Costa offers the perfect opportunity for a beach-side stroll with plenty of lovely stop-offs amongst local bars and restaurants. You're also within easy reach of our favourite mountain walks withing Sierra de Mijas, less than an hour from La Ermita Resort, with a height of 1,150 ft.
We've counted 17 different MTB trails within the Aviemore area alone, a Bike Park in Aberfoyle plus two MTB trails and dozens of challenging trails in the Dyfi Valley. The New Forest has cycle routes through ancient woodland, heaths, pretty villages and a 40-mile stretch of coast. It's safe to say our UK resorts are well situated for the mountain bike enthusiast but also the leisure cyclist following the popular routes within all resort's nearest national parks.
The Malaga coastal path along the beach at our Calahonda resorts also offers access for cyclists in certain sections so you can explore the coast on two wheels.
Ask our reception teams for details on recommended bike hire companies if you've not brought yours with you on holiday.
With two golf courses on-site, one a championship course at Spey Valley Resort and preferred tee times at over 10 of the top golf courses in the Costa del Sol, we can safely say that golfing breaks are one of our specialities!
Visit our golf breaks page and start working on your handicap.
Spey Valley Resort and Lochanhully Resort are both close to CairnGorm Mountain, widely regarded as one of the most beautiful, and sometimes challenging, places to ski and snowboard in the UK. There's a wide range of routes on offer, with the longest run running 3.3 kms. Try out the seven green runs, six blue, eight red and one black piste.
Most of our lodges, chalets and villas have space to store your skis and we can arrange all your equipment hire if you prefer to travel light and have everything ready for collection on arrival. With private saunas and wood burning fires in some of our accommodation we'll also help you defrost!
Our guests also tell us amazing stories about rock climbing and canyoning near Ronda, surfing off the Welsh coast and zip sliding through the Trossachs and Cairngorms.
Within 20 minutes of Plas Talgarth Resort you're on Aberdyfi beach, a paradise for water sports enthusiasts. The estuary is ideal for sailing, canoeing, sailboarding and water-skiing. The coastline up to Tywyn is popular with surfers and kite-surfers.
With 10 minutes of Spey Valley Resort you'll find a surprising number of in-land water sports on nearby Loch Morlich. This is a fresh water loch surrounded by long sandy beaches and home to a popular water sports centre and yacht club where you'll find sailing, windsurfing, stand up paddle boarding, kayaking and canoeing from April until October.
Book a holiday in Spain and head to the Costa del Sol which offers a huge range of water based activities. There's kite-surfing, windsurfing, sailing, paddle boarding and jet skis and with three of our resorts on the coast itself you'll have easy access and an adundance of choice. Multiple activity providers are available, speak to your resort receptionist for recommendations.
