CYCLING – A GREAT WAY TO EXPLORE

It couldn’t be easier to discover the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park by bike, with hundreds of miles of cycle paths for riders of all levels, from family-focused trails in picturesque woodland to challenging mountain biking routes through hills and mountains.

National Cycle Route 7 is a great place to start; it runs through the Park, connecting Balloch on the southern banks of Loch Lomond with Aberfoyle, Strathyre, Callander, Lochearnhead and Killin. It also offers plenty of opportunities for shorter, family-friendly day trips – and don’t worry, you’ll still be passing beautiful lochs and rolling hills as you ride. The cycle between Aberfoyle and Callander, which includes Loch Venachar is an example of a shorter, scenic route and is especially good fun if you hire an electric bike.

Additionally, there are options near Forest Hills Resort around Loch Ard that are suitable for family rides, including the Loch Ard Sculpture Trail which offers a selection of cycle routes and the Loch Ard loop, at just 3.5 miles long.
